MARTIN L. GORE NEW SINGLE "STARDUST"
RELEASE DATE: 14th APRIL 2003
Martin L. Gore, songwriter and one of the founder members of Depeche Mode, is set to release a new single, 'Stardust', on Mute on the 14th of April.
'Stardust', a version of the David Essex classic, is the first single to be lifted from his new album "Counterfeit2", the second in his counterfeit cover version series, which is released on the 28th of April
"Counterfeit2", like his first Counterfeit release in 1989, is a wildly diverse and passionate collection that sees Gore radically rework tracks originally made famous by the likes of Lou Reed, Iggy Pop, Nick Cave And The Bad Seeds, Kurt Weill, John Lennon, Brian Eno and David Essex.
CD copies of 'Stardust' come backed with Hank Thompson's 'I Cast A Lonesome Shadow' and an exclusive version of Marc Bolan's 'Life Is Strange'. The 12" and DVD feature additional mixes by Atom and Stewart Walker, while the DVD will also feature exclusive footage of Martin Gore performing an acoustic take of Marc Bolan's 'Left Hand Luke And The Beggar Boys'.
